After working as a CASA substitute for the last couple of years Laurie is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her passion for performing with the wonderful kids of CASA on a regular basis.

Looking forward to bringing all of her varied performance experience into her work with the Friday CASA Cabaret, Laurie is most excited about seeing the kids at CASA discover and expand their talents through performance.

Laurie performed for many years as a stand up comedian and has since branched out into writing, acting and directing for independent theater. She has performed as an MC for countless events, studies hula and plays the ukulele. 

She has produced the “Project Lameway” benefit fashion show for two years and was pleased to make CASA the beneficiary of the last show.

She can often be seen at the Castro Theater as a “Sing Along Movie Hostess”. In that capacity she has written and performed pre-shows for Sing Along Sound of Music, Mary Poppins and The Wizard of Oz among others.

Having worked with such a wide variety of talented people, Laurie plans to bring in musicians, stand-up comedians and other guest artists to share their talents with the kids (and to give the kids the opportunity to show off).
